This in turn improves farmer profitability, protects the environment by reducing pesticide use, and captures valuable plant-by-plant data. A pioneer in the agricultural robotics space, this company developed a state-of-the-art intelligent sprayer, which applies pesticide only where needed, reducing pesticide spray volumes by up to 90%. Following the success of this product, the company has been acquired by and runs as an independent subsidiary under the largest provider of equipment for agriculture, forestry, construction, lawn and turf care, landscaping and irrigation which has allowed the company to grow rapidly. Together, both companies are actively seeking to apply advanced computer vision, machine learning, and robotics technologies to other areas in agriculture beyond spraying.
The Principal Perception Engineer will be joining an exciting new program that sits at the intersection of agriculture, machine learning, and robotics. Details are confidential, but this program has tremendous potential to help farmers, to shape global farming practices, and to have a major impact on one of America's most iconic brands. As an expert in this field, you will be working with various teams within engineering, but you will be the pioneer of this specific piece of the AI project. The Principal Perception Engineer role is an extremely high-profile position within the company that will gain a lot of visibility since autonomy is the company's central focus right now. In addition, the Principal Perception Engineer will own the entire process of this project from research, proof of concept, and finally to production.
