Salary Range $100,900 - $195,400 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate''''s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. What Your Job Will Be Like The Communications and Network Systems Department is seeking a highly motivated Information Security Lead (job title: Information Assurance Specialist) with experience managing complex security programs. The successful candidate will have experience with transmission security and the TEMPEST program. In addition, the successful candidate will also have experience managing encrypting devices and being responsible for a Federal COMSEC program.
On any given day, you may be called on to: * Install, configure, and troubleshoot encrypting devices jointly with networking subject matter experts to ensure reliable secure communication systems * Maintain accurate records of accountable material and oversee the implementation of Federal program requirements * Build and maintain strong relationships with the designated Federal officials for each of these security programs * Participate in and be accountable for various information security audits * Partner with other organizations such as physical security and cyber security in the implementation of their security programs Qualifications We Require * Bachelor''''s degree in relevant field plus 5 or more years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and and relevant experience * Five years of experience with the COMSEC and TEMPEST security programs * Active DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent Qualifications We Desire * Hands-on experience troubleshooting and managing encrypting devices * Active certification within the DOE COMSEC program * Experience executing projects and leading teams to successful outcomes * Thorough understanding of transmission security requirements with the ability to guide others on how to meet Federal requirements * Customer service centered approach to problem solving * Familiarity with networking concepts and able to assess networking issues * Comfortable making decisions in complex situations with imperfect information * Familiarity with portable electronic devices and able to assess security risks posed by such devices About Our Team The Communication and Network Systems Department provides vital services for Sandia''''s California Laboratory. Security Clearance Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
