Job Summary: Serves as lead researcher and Aerospace Engineer (Rocket Scientist) in support of government customer. Performs a variety of mechanical, diagnostic, aerodynamic design and testing functions in rocket propulsion, avionics, and advanced weapons systems engineering. Candidate must have vast experience in DoD setting in weapons development and analysis. Ideal candidate has vast knowledge of propulsion, physics, and aerodynamics, thermodynamics of missile and rocket systems. Main Duties: * Comply with tasking provided by the Time Sensitive Strike (TSS) Development Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead Engineer.
* Energetic Subject Matter Expert support which is as follows but not limited to:
* Oversee the development and qualification of the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile-Extended Range (AARGM-ER) rocket motor, warhead, and fusing device, to include coordination with the AARGM-ER prime contractor to ensure timely success of test events required for weapon fielding. * Provide technical input to the TSS Development Lead Engineer on the status of energetic test events and analysis of the results upon completion of these events. * Systems Engineering support which is as follows but not limited to:
* Provide technical inputs in the creation and review of all engineering class desk documents (ex. SOW, CDRL, technical proposals, SETR planning, technical maturity, etc.). * As required, participate in PMRs, technical reviews, technical coordination meetings, Test Planning Working Groups (TPWG), Cybersecurity Working Groups (CSWG), System Safety Working Group (SSWG), Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs)/Model Based Systems Engineering Activities, conferences, briefings, and other significant program activities. This consists of any preparation work (ex. briefing material) and tracking engineering action items associated with the aforementioned items.
* Coordinate with multiple disciplines as required to support the requirements verification of the AARGM-ER missile. Minimum Qualifications: * (3) years'''' knowledge/experience with energetic materials
* Bachelor''''s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
* Ability to conduct experiments, research, and testing
* Must be able to work independently and present findings to the product support team and related customers
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * (5) years'''' experience supporting NAVAIR weapons systems or related program
* Prior Class Desk (Systems Engineering) experience or can show equivalency
* Solid skills with collaborative programs such as Microsoft-SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
* Initiative-taking individual with analytical skills and attention to details
